Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a binding agreement between you (the “Customer”) and Honest Maid LLC (the “Company”) regarding the provision of residential and/or commercial cleaning services. By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance and Eligibility
By booking our services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal authority to grant access to the property, and that all information provided is accurate and complete.
2. Service Scope and Limitations
Honest Maid LLC provides professional cleaning services including regular maintenance, deep cleans, move-in/out, and post-construction cleaning. Unless specifically agreed upon in writing, our services do NOT include:
- Cleaning at heights requiring ladders above two steps.
- Moving heavy furniture or appliances.
- Exterior window cleaning above ground level.
- Handling biohazardous materials or extreme hoarding conditions.
- Pest control or infestation remediation.
- Specialized carpet shampooing or upholstery cleaning (unless specifically booked).
We reserve the right to refuse service or discontinue cleaning if conditions are deemed unsafe or fall outside the agreed scope.
3. Cleaning Supplies and Equipment
We provide all standard cleaning supplies and equipment. If you prefer the use of specific products provided by you, please notify us at the time of booking. Honest Maid LLC is not responsible for the performance or results of customer-provided products.
4. Payment Terms
Payment is due according to the terms agreed upon at the time of booking. For recurring services, we may retain a payment method on file to be charged in coordination with your scheduled service. All fees are non-refundable except as expressly stated in these Terms. We reserve the right to adjust pricing based on property condition, size, or additional requested tasks.
5. Scheduling and Cancellations
- 48-Hour Notice: Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 48 hours before your scheduled service.
- Cancellation Fee: Requests made with less than 48 hours’ notice will result in a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the service price.
- Lockouts: If our team cannot access the property at the scheduled time (lockout), you will be charged the full service amount.
6. Property Access and Pets
You are responsible for providing accurate access instructions, codes, or keys. All access information is kept secure and used strictly for scheduled services. Pets: Please inform us of any pets. For the safety of our staff, we request that aggressive or unpredictable pets be secured in a separate area. We reserve the right to leave the premises if a pet’s behavior makes our service providers feel unsafe.
7. Damage, Breakage, and Theft
Reporting: Any claims of damage or breakage must be reported within 24 hours of service completion with photographic evidence. Coverage: We carry liability insurance for damages caused by our negligence. Resolution is limited to the lesser of repair/replacement cost or fair market value. We are not responsible for pre-existing wear and tear, improperly secured items, or fragile heirlooms not disclosed prior to service. Theft: Theft claims must be reported within 7 days and require a valid police report to initiate an investigation.
8. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure a high-standard clean, we ask that you:
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Secure all valuables, cash, jewelry, and fragile items prior to our arrival.
- Disclose any property hazards (mold, lead, etc.) or health concerns in the household.
- Treat our service providers with professional respect.
9. Service Provider Standards
All Honest Maid LLC service providers undergo background checks and are held to our 20-year standard of integrity. While we strive to send consistent providers for recurring services, we reserve the right to substitute staff as needed due to scheduling or illness. Tipping is never required but is appreciated for exceptional service.
10. Insurance and Force Majeure
Honest Maid LLC is insured and bonded. We shall not be liable for delays or failures in performance due to circumstances beyond our control, such as severe weather, natural disasters, or government restrictions. In such events, we will reschedule your service as soon as possible.
11. Termination of Service
- By Customer: You may discontinue services at any time following our cancellation policy.
- By Company: We may terminate services immediately for non-payment, unsafe conditions, verbal abuse, or violation of these Terms.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid for services in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
13. Dispute Resolution
Before initiating formal legal action, you agree to contact Honest Maid LLC to attempt an informal resolution for at least 30 days. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
By booking cleaning services with Honest Maid LLC, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
